The Bayelsa government has restated its commitment to continue to meet its financial obligations on all projects administered in the state.

‎The commissioner for information, orientation and strategy, Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, made the commitment on Friday during the transparency briefing for the months of May, June and July, in Yenagoa.

“This is a tradition in the state that we have institutionalised to explain to the public on all income and expenditures.

‎”This policy philosophy is the explanation behind the rigorous ongoing projects you see across the state.

“This is because it is the Gov. Douye Diri administration’s intention and hope that all these projects will be completed,” she stated.

The commissioner tasked journalists present on balancing their reportage, stating that they were partners in the progress and development of the state.

Ms Koku-Obiyai lauded the journalists for promoting the policies and programmes of the state government.

She, however, urged them not to compromise the ethics of their profession, even as 2027 drew closer.

The special adviser to the governor on treasury, revenues and accounts, Timipre Seipulou, gave highlights on figures to the media covering the state income and expenditures for the period.

He said that Bayelsa was financially balanced to ensure all ongoing projects were completed before the end of the administration of Mr Diri.

Others at the briefing session were the accountant-general of the state, Tokoni Ifidi and the director general, new media to the governor, Kola Oredipe.
