Tinubu’s aide calls out FCT minister Wike over heaps of refuse littering Abuja

Tope Fasua, an economist and presidential aide, has lamented the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in Abuja. He made a public appeal to FCT minister Nyesom Wike to address the matter before the entire capital city is littered with garbage.

In a post on Facebook on Tuesday, Mr Tope shared photos of heaps of refuse on the streets of Abuja, calling the FCT Minister to save the city.

“Apparently, a waste management crisis is riding on the achievements of Mr Wike on infrastructure in Abuja. Something is breaking,” Mr Fasua said.

Describing the heaps of refuse on the streets of Abuja as “gory,” Mr Fasua condemned indiscriminate waste dumping.

“Uncle Wike, kindly help,” the presidential aide stated.

He added, “I drove around a bit over the weekend and saw too many incidents of flytipping. Where people deliberately dump waste where they shouldn’t. I saw that at LifeCamp roundabout and all over the Gwarimpa side of the Kubwa Expressway.

“This morning, I drove past  a huge waste dump right in Wuse 2/Utako as I made my way to the Centre for the Study of Economies of Africa. That was a gory sight. And there are houses built on both sides. That location should be declared as an emergency and cleared out immediately.”
