The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has urged Nigerians to sustain their support for the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Mr Idris made the appeal on Wednesday at a press conference organised by the Federal Information Centre in Sokoto.

Represented by the centre’s head, Abdulkadir Abubakar, the minister said states have benefited from Mr Tinubu’s laudable projects aimed at uplifting people’s lives.

The minister stated that the achievements of the Tinubu administration have attracted wide commendations from within and outside the country.

He said fertilizer and other agricultural inputs were distributed to farmers in Sokoto State in recognition of the importance attached to farming, which the majority of the citizens engaged in.

The minister said bags of rice were sold at subsidised rates to low-income earners and civil servants, while mass housing, ecological, and health services had been provided to citizens.

He said the construction of the Sokoto-Gusau and Funtua-Zaria roads was a great succour to the citizens.

Mr Idris said that besides this, the construction of the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, which traverses many states to the south, has boosted economic activities.

The minister said that dams and irrigation schemes undertaken by Mr Tinubu’s government were also underway and would provide opportunities for power generation and agriculture, thereby creating jobs for the people.

“There is also a student loan scheme, a consumer credit corporation, and the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and many more,” he said.

Mr Idris said the implementation of local government autonomy facilitated by Mr Tinubu and the establishment of Ministries of Regional Development and Livestock Development were deliberate efforts to provide development across the country.

Commenting on the security challenges, the minister stated that the administration had ensured support for all security agencies, stressing that Nigeria’s media must acknowledge the operations of military personnel.

He reassured Nigerians of the implementation of more beneficial policies, stressing that the Renewed Hope Agenda was a key to achieving milestones in transforming citizens’ lives for the better.
