Man, 30, appears in court over alleged theft of security light worth N2 million

The police prosecutor said that offence contravenes the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

A 30-year-old man, Azeez Bolakale, on Tuesday appeared before an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, for allegedly stealing a security light valued at N2 million.

Bolakale, whose address was not provided, was charged with a one-count charge of stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Aug. 26 at Ori-Okuta, Agric area in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

According to him, the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr B.A. Sonuga, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 and a surety in like sum.

Sonuga adjourned the case until October 9 for mention.
