Council boss condoles police over officers killed in Kogi ambush

The slain officers, killed on Tuesday along Egbe–Okunran road, were Ibrahim Taiwo, Isah Yahuza, and Albert John.

The chairman of Yagba West LGA in Kogi, Tosin Olokun, has commiserated with the Nigeria Police Force and the families of three officers killed in an ambush.

The slain officers, killed on Tuesday along Egbe–Okunran road, were Ibrahim Taiwo, Isah Yahuza, and Albert John.

Mr Olokun expressed his condolences in a statement on Wednesday.

Mr Olokun described the fallen officers as courageous men who paid the supreme price while protecting lives, maintaining peace, and ensuring security across Yagba West and the state.

He assured the police command and bereaved families that the people of Yagba West share their grief, adding that the officers’ sacrifices will never be forgotten.

To prevent further threats, Mr Olokun directed all recently migrated herders to vacate Yagba West within 24 hours.

He also pledged the council’s cooperation with security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of the attack are apprehended and brought to justice.

Mr Olokun prayed for the peaceful repose of the officers’ souls and divine comfort to their families and loved ones.
