Ange Postecoglou’s rocking start at Nottingham Forest faces a setback as Championship side Swansea City come from behind to knock out the Reds and progress to the next phase of the EFL Carabao Cup.

Nottingham Forest, led by Igor Jesus, took an early 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Igor Jesus in the first 15 minutes of the game and the second before the break, both finishes assisted to perfection.

However, Swansea City refused to fold as the second half began.

The comeback started in the 68th minute when Cameron Burgess powered a header from close range, assisted by Eom Ji-Sung, to halve the deficit.

In stoppage time, Swansea struck twice more. Zan Vipotnik equalized in added time with a precise finish following a cross from Liam Cullen, and just minutes later, Burgess completed the breakthrough with a left-footed strike from a corner to seal a 3-2 victory before the final whistle.

Swansea showed an improved confidence after half-time, with an increased tempo and good pressing, thanks to the young talents of Ethan Galbraith and Mallick Yalcouye, giving renewed optimism for their campaign.

The changes under the new manager were evident through outstanding performances from players like Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee, and Douglas Luiz.

In the post-match interview, Ange Postecoglou said, “We had to finish them off and we had plenty of opportunities to do that, but a couple of decisions didn’t go our way. I think the lads got a bit comfortable in that moment, and you’ve got to recognize the warning signs. The players just thought it would naturally finish that way, and we’ve paid a heavy price for that. We need to improve.”

With crucial games approaching, Tottenham now head to face Burnley, Real Betis in the Europa League, and Sunderland.
