Customs Ibeto command generated over N4 billion in three months: Comptroller

The Nigeria Customs Service Area 5 Ibeto Command, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said it generated more than N4 billion in less than three months of operation.
The command’s pioneer Comptroller, Martha Abubakar, disclosed the figure while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
Ms Abubakar attributed the command’s achievements to smooth stakeholders and interagency collaboration.
She stressed that the synergy also enhanced trade facilitation, blocking revenue linkages.
In her analysis on revenue performances, the command which started full operations on July 3 generated more than N1 billion in same month.
“The sum of over N1.9 billion was generated in the month of August,” she said.
The former comptroller also said that 42.5 per cent revenue increase was realised in the month of August when compared to the amount generated in July.
She said, “I commend the seating Comptroller-General, Mr Bashir Adeniyi and the management team for considering me worthy of the rare honour. Serving as the pioneer Comptroller of Ibeto Seaport and Terminal Command is indeed motivational. My appointment was not only a personal privilege but a lifetime opportunity to contribute to national development by being part of foundation laying of this great command.’’
Ibeto Seaport and Terminal, Area 5 Command was established on July 3, 2025 with Martha Abubakar serving as its pioneer comptroller.
