President Donald Trump and the White House on Thursday shared a post about U.S.-based Nigerians, Christopher Falade, his son, Emmanuel Falade, and six others caught in a web of wire fraud in Minnesota housing stabilisation programme.

Upon U.S. Department of Justice charging the Falades and other six people for their roles in a massive housing stabilisation fraud scheme on Thursday, an X user, @libsoftiktok, on Thursday made a post with a title, ‘BREAKING: 8 charged in MASSIVE Medicaid fraud scheme which resulted in $8.4 MILLION in stolen Medicaid billings in Minnesota’.

“The individuals charged: Moktar Hass Aden, Mustafa Dayib Ali, Khalid Ahmed Dayib, Abdifitah Mohamud Mohamed, Christopher Adesoji Falade, Emmanuel Oluwademilade Falade, Asad Ahmed Adow, and Anwar Ahmed Adow,” the post added.

Mr Trump’s post parading two fraudulent Nigerians garnered over 200,000 views and 2,000 reactions on Truth Social as of Friday morning. In the post, Mr Trump mocked Ilhan Omar, a prominent Democratic congresswoman representing Minnesota.

“Does Ilhan Omar know these people? Are they from her wonderfully managed home country of Somalia?” said the U.S. president.

He added, “Ilhan Omar’s country of Somalia is plagued by a lack of central government control, persistent poverty, hunger, resurgent terrorism, piracy, decades of civil war, corruption, and pervasive violence. 70% of the population lives in extreme poverty, and widespread food insecurity.”

Mr Trump added, “Somalia is consistently ranked among the world’s most corrupt countries, including bribery, embezzlement, and a dysfunctional government. All of this, and Ilhan Omar tells us how to run America!”

The White House shared a screenshot of Mr Trump’s post on Truth Social with two memes. The post elicited over 1,000 comments, more than 5,000 reposts and viewed over 500,000 times by X users.
