Davido inducted recording academy voting member for Grammy Awards

Nigerian singer-songwriter David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been inducted as a voting member of the Recording Academy, joining other international stars to decide winners of the Grammy Awards.
The ‘With You’ crooner’s inclusion means he will join thousands of international creatives in voting for nominees and winners of the Grammy Awards.
The Recording Academy announced his addition on Tuesday. The first round of voting for the 2026 Grammys begins on October 3. Nominees will be unveiled on November 7, and the final awards ceremony is scheduled for February 1, 2026.
The announcement was made via the Recording Academy’s official Instagram page.
In a short video, committee members emphasized the importance of creatives, their work, and dedication, stating that it illustrates why every song or album requires commitment and why every contribution matters to shaping the global music industry.
Davido was named alongside other artists and professionals, including Offset, Ravyn Lenae, Jessie Reyez, Zac Brown Band, Steve Copeland, Miles Minnick, Anne Akiko Meyers, Damien Sneed, and Maya Elizabeth.
Reacting to the development, the singer said, “Understanding the importance of how our voices are heard, I am participating in the GRAMMY Award process. It is a game-changer. I have learned that voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on in each season. I am honoured to be part of the Recording Academy community, and I look forward to voting.”
His induction follows his three nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards, including Best African Music Performance for ‘Unavailable’ featuring Musa Keys and Best Global Music Album for his fourth studio project ‘Timeless.’
