Former Liverpool manager Beard found hanged at his home: Coroner
A coroner court hearing on Monday was told Matt Beard, former Liverpool women’s manager, was found hanged at his home in Deeside, Flintshire, Wales.
The BBC on Monday reported that at a “hearing on Monday in Ruthin, North Wales, coroner John Griffiths said paramedics were called to Beard’s home in Deeside, Flintshire, before he was taken to hospital.”
According to the BBC, Beard, 47, died in hospital at 9:15 p.m. on 20 September. The hearing was adjourned for a full inquest at a later date.
His last coaching job was with Burnley. He left the club just after two months.
During his first stint at Liverpool, Beard led the club to two Women’s Super League titles in 2013 and 2014.
In 2021, Beard had his second spell with Liverpool until he was sacked in February 2025.
