Ahead of American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sentencing on October 3, singer Casandra Ventura Fine, popularly known as Cassie, has released a victim impact letter recounting more than a decade of alleged abuse, violence, and manipulation.

Addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian of the Southern District of New York, Cassie detailed what she called “the most traumatic and horrifying chapter” of her life.

Cassie said Diddy, who was found guilty of two counts of transporting women across state lines for prostitution, groomed her from when she was 19, and forced her into repeated sex acts with hired male sex workers during so-called “freak offs,” often under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

She described the encounters as degrading and exhausting, leaving her with lasting scars and trauma.

“I testified that I learned to read Sean Combs’ signals, knowing that when he spoke of ‘freak offs,’ he was demanding them, and that refusing meant punishment, losing my car, my phone, or worse,” she wrote. “

Cassie also described frequent episodes of physical violence, including being punched, kicked, and stomped on.

She said jurors saw footage of Diddy allegedly kicking and beating her in 2016, which left her bruised and permanently scarred.

“This physical violence caused bruises that makeup artists (paid for by Sean Combs) would cover up, as well as permanent scars all over my body,” she wrote.

Beyond the physical abuse, she said she lived in a constant state of hypervigilance, fearful of retaliation for “any perceived slight.”

Cassie added that her descent into substance abuse was directly tied to Diddy’s control over her life, saying she used drugs “to numb myself to the physical pain and emotional turmoil I was constantly in.”

She rejected claims by his defence team that their relationship was a “great modern love story,” insisting, “Nothing about this story is great, modern, or loving; this was a horrific decade of my life stained by abuse, violence, forced sex, and degradation.”

Cassie said the last seven years have been spent slowly rebuilding her life through rehab and therapy, though she still suffers nightmares, flashbacks, and fears of retaliation.

“While what he did to me is always present, I am slowly learning how to live my life free of the fear and horrors I endured,” she wrote.

Cassie ended her letter by urging the court to consider the lasting impact of Combs’ actions not only on her life but on others.

“For over a decade, Sean Combs made me feel powerless and unimportant, but my experience was real, horrific, and deserves to be considered,” she wrote. “I hope that your sentencing decision gives me the strength it took for victims of Sean Combs to come forward.”

Diddy is set to be sentenced in the U.S. for violating the federal Mann Act. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion.
