Nigeria’s tennis federation mourns president Akindoju

The Nigeria Tennis Federation has announced the death of its president, Ifedayo Akindoju.

The federation confirmed the development in a tweet on its official X account on Friday.

“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the Nigeria Tennis Federation announces the passing of our President, Engr. Ifedayo Akindoju, who left us on Thursday,” the federation said.

The NTF described Mr Akindoju as a dedicated leader who served the sport with passion and vision.

“His leadership left an indelible mark on the growth and development of tennis in Nigeria,” the federation said.

The federation said Mr Akindoju’s commitment to players, coaches, officials, and the tennis community will not be forgotten.

It extended its condolences to his family, friends, and the Nigerian tennis community.
