Edo tourism agency gets new director-general

Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Vivian Elabor as the director-general of the Edo Tourism Agency.
This was announced in a statement on Wednesday by Musa Ikhilor, the secretary to the state government.
Mr Ikhilor said Ms Elabor’s appointment takes immediate effect and reflects the administration’s resolve to reposition the state’s tourism and creative economy sector as a driver of economic diversification, cultural renaissance, and youth empowerment.
According to him, Ms Elabor is a distinguished professional with over 20 years of experience in media, community engagement, and public relations.
“She holds a bachelor’s degree in media and mass communication from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, and diplomas in theatre arts and healthcare management,” he said.
He added that the new appointee had served in diverse capacities across the United Kingdom, including serving as presenter/head of production at BEN Television, London, where she produced impactful programmes promoting African culture and excellence.
”She has also worked extensively in housing management and rehabilitation services, supporting vulnerable populations through leadership roles at Change Grow Live (CGL) and Clear Springs–Ready Homes.
“As a board member of the Centre for Wounded Servicemen and Fallen Heroes Support Fund, Ms Elabor demonstrated commitment to humanitarian causes and national development,” Mr Ikhilor further said.
