Four killed, 12 injured in shooting after football game in Mississippi
At least four people were killed and 12 others were injured in an overnight shooting in Leland, Mississippi, on Friday.
The shooting took place after a homecoming football game at Leland High School.
Mayor of Leland, John Lee, in a Facebook post on Saturday, confirmed the shooting and cancelled an event earlier scheduled for the day.
“I’m deeply saddened about the tragedy that happened in the City of Leland,” he said. “Due to the tragedy and the safety of others, the block party is cancelled.”
According to local media, Tylar Jarod Goodloe, 18, has been identified as the person of interest in connection with the shooting.
