OAUSTECH joins ASUU’s two-week warning strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa Branch, has joined the two-week warning strike directed by the national body of the union.
Oluwatoyin Ogunbamike, OAUSTECH ASUU chairman, confirmed this on Monday in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
“Yes, we have joined the two-week nationwide strike declared by the national body of ASUU,” said Mr Ogunbamike. “We have to comply with the directives of the national ASUU for the betterment of all members across the country.”
The strike would not adversely affect the students of OAUSTECH, as they are still on vacation and have yet to resume the 2025/2026 academic session.
The national president of ASUU, Chris Piwuna, at a news conference at the University of Abuja on Sunday, directed ASUU members in all public universities to embark on a nationwide two-week warning strike over unmet demands.
“Consequently, all branches of ASUU are hereby directed to withdraw their services with effect from midnight on Monday, October 13
“The warning strike shall be total and comprehensive as agreed at the last NEC meeting,” Mr Piwuna said.
