Adamawa PDP moves to reconcile aggrieved members

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa said it is reaching out to reconcile with aggrieved members of the party over the conduct of the recent party congresses in the state.
Victor Dogo, the state publicity secretary, made this known in an interview with journalists on Tuesday in Yola, the state capital.
“Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has instructed that from the party line, we should immediately engage them,” said Mr Dogo. “In engaging them, we’re not talking about trying to look at what has come out of the congress, but why the person must remain a member of the family.”
He blamed the defection of some members to other political parties on personal reasons, adding, however, that the party would address the issues.
“We are grateful to God that PDP has been able to successfully conduct a very well-articulated congress where we had everyone on board and everyone involved.
“It is always like that to have situations whereby you have aggrieved persons.
“With such a situation arising, definitely the first thing that the family is to do is to go back and ask ourselves why these people are aggrieved,” said Mr Dogo.
According to him, the party has successfully inaugurated its executive across the 21 local government areas, and they would immediately swing into action to ensure the party’s success in the state and at the national level.
