Nkom elected to AfHF executive board in Egypt

The president of the Nigeria Hockey Federation, Simon Nkom, was elected on Thursday to the Executive Board of the African Hockey Federation at its 25th Ordinary Congress in Ismailia, Egypt.
The congress, which brought together top hockey administrators and stakeholders from across the continent, marked a new chapter in the leadership structure of African hockey.
Mr Nkom’s election is widely regarded as recognition of his consistent dedication and outstanding contributions to the growth and development of hockey in Nigeria and beyond.
Mr Nkom expressed deep appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by his peers and reaffirmed his commitment to serve selflessly in advancing the sport at the continental level.
The congress also witnessed a moment of honour for Nigeria’s Ediga Agbo, who completed a 10-year tenure as a member of the AfHF executive board.
He was specially recognised by the president of the International Hockey Federation, Tayyab Ikram, and the president of the African Hockey Federation, Seif Ahmed, for his immense contributions to the sport’s administration and development in Africa.
The federation described Messrs Nkom and Agbo’s achievements as a testament to Nigeria’s growing influence in continental hockey and their unwavering dedication to nurturing the dream of sustained hockey excellence.
