Police nab six suspects, recover three tricycles, five motorcycles in Kano

The police command in Kano State has arrested six suspects, recovered three stolen tricycles and five motorcycles in recent operations by its Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in different parts of the state.

According to a statement by police public relations officer, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the arrests reflected the command’s commitment to safety and security in Kano.

Mr Kiyawa said two suspects, Nura Ibrahim (44) and Sunusi Bala (22), were apprehended after attempting to steal a tricycle on Airport Road, Kano, on Tuesday.

He explained that investigations revealed they used intoxicants to steal tricycles.

Mr Kiyawa added that two more stolen tricycles were recovered in Katsina State, with arrests of accomplices Bashir Muhd and Sunusi Musa.

He said that the command also disrupted a motorcycle theft syndicate, arresting Umar Isah (34), with three stolen motorcycles recovered, and Idris Isyaku (28), with two stolen motorcycles, following intelligence-led operations.

The spokesperson said the command recovered items that included three tricycles and five motorcycles, with various registration numbers.

He urged the owners to contact the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) on 07010161372 with proof of ownership.

The Kano State police commissioner, Ibrahim Bakori, called on the residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.

He said that the command remained committed to protecting lives and property in the state.
