Victor Osimhen delivered a stellar performance in Istanbul, scoring twice to inspire Galatasaray to a 3–1 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League, a result that handed the Turkish giants back-to-back European wins for the first time in years.

Rams Park erupted just three minutes into the match when Mario Lemina split the defence with a clever through ball, allowing Osimhen to slot past Nikita Haikin with trademark precision. The Nigerian forward continued to torment the visitors, twice meeting Leroy Sané’s teasing crosses, only to be denied by the in-form goalkeeper.

After weathering the early storm, Bodo/Glimt began to find some rhythm, keeping possession in spells that drew whistles from the passionate home support. But they struggled to trouble Uğurcan Cakır in the Galatasaray goal.

Osimhen remained a constant menace, testing Haikin again after capitalising on a loose clearance from Odin Bjortuft. His persistence paid off in the 33rd minute, when Fredrik André Bjørkan’s errant back pass gifted him a one-on-one opportunity, which he coolly converted after rounding the goalkeeper to make it 2–0.

Bodo/Glimt showed more fight before the break, as Jens Petter Hauge fired narrowly wide and Sondre Brunstad Fet struck the post from distance. The Norwegian side carried that momentum into the second half, but Galatasaray’s front line looked far more dangerous on the break.

Osimhen once again sparked chaos in the final third, pressing high to win the ball off Haitam Aleesami and setting up Yunus Akgün, who slotted home on the rebound after his initial effort was saved, effectively sealing the win. Bodo/Glimt finally got on the scoresheet in the 76th minute when Andreas Helmersen nodded in Bjørkan’s cross, but it proved little more than a consolation.

The result extends Galatasaray’s impressive run to 21 wins in their last 23 matches across all competitions and underscores their strong response to the heavy defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 1.

Meanwhile, Bodo/Glimt’s five-game unbeaten streak in Europe came to an end, leaving them stranded on just two points in the league phase.
