Man arrested over alleged killing of Delta motorcyclist

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested one Buhari Musa, a robbery gang member, over the killing of one Friday Irogbo, and theft of the victim’s motorcycle and phone.
Spokesperson for the command, Bright Edafe, on Thursday, in a post on his X, who also attached the video of the suspect’s parade, said the victim had been reported missing since early October.
Mr Edafe captioned the video, “A 53-year-old man was reported missing at Agbor Police Division. The DPO and team embarked on an intelligence-led investigation, and eventually arrested one of the suspects, who confessed that they murdered him so they could steal his motorcycle. He even converted the dead man’s phone to his own use.”
Mr Edafe, in the video, said investigation revealed that the late victim, “saw this young guy and his friend who approached him that he should please carry them, I think for commercial purpose, which he did. On his way out of that particular bush, this guy and his friend, according to him, his friend asked him to use a hoe with which they use in doing farm work to hit the man, which he declined. But the other friend now hit him on his head, he died, they dragged his corpse to the bush, abandoned him, took his bike and sold it for an undisclosed amount. The amount is not disclosed because right now, the receiver is at large while the other brother who sold the bike is also at large. This happened in Agbor.”
Speaking through an interpreter, the victim confessed to the crime, adding that his friend gave him the victim’s phone to hold, which he later inserted his sim in and continued using it before it was found in his possession.
Stating that both his accomplices and the buyer of the stole motorcycle were both still at large, Mr Edafe assured that they would be arrested.
