The police on Friday arraigned two men at the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing livestock valued at N75 million.

The defendants are Mamud Abubakar, 40, and Iskinu Seriki, 49.

They are standing trial on charges of conspiracy and the theft of 43 cows and nine rams. They each pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Insp. Ajanaude Yenido, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on October 3 at 7:40 p.m. in the Povita community in Badagry.

Mr Yenido alleged that the defendants conspired to commit the offences between August 2024 and October 3 this year.
