EPL: Arsenal beat Palace at Emirates, Man City lose to Aston Villa

Arsenal went six points clear thanks to their strong backline to top the Premier League standings as Manchester City suffer defeat to Villa due to a decisive goal from Matty Cash.
The Gunners secured three points to top the league table with a goal from Eberechi Eze scoring his first goal at the Emirates and against his former team Crystal Palace.
Arsenal took on Crystal Palace in a match that followed a stunning display against Atletico Madrid, where Arteta’s side scored four goals in the Champions League. In their domestic league, they impressively kept their defensive line strong, conceding only three goals all season.
The tense encounter produced plenty of chances for both sides, but the breakthrough came just before half-time.
From a set piece, Rice sent in a cross towards Gabriel at the back post. The Eagles got a touch on it but couldn’t clear the danger.
The ball fell nicely to Eze inside the box, and he reacted quickly, hitting a half-volley into the bottom right corner to score.
The tough game failed to produce another goal but it recorded their seventh consecutive victory in all competitions. Mikel Arteta is preparing to face Brighton in the EFL cup as Palace head out to face

Despite having less possession, Villa made their moment count as Matty Cash’s precise finish from a Digne and BuendÃa set-piece sealed the victory.
City struggled to break through a solid Villa defence, with Haaland kept quiet throughout.
The win also saw Villa match an 89-year-old record, becoming the first team since 1936 to follow a five-game winless start with four straight victories.
The Sunday matchday saw Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche lose his first Premier League defeat in his return to the league losing to Bournemouth with two goals from Tavernier and Kroupi.
Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered another consecutive home loss losing to Burnley 3-2 to keep them at the bottom of the league standings with just two points.
