Juventus confirm Luciano Spalletti as new head coach

Serie A side Juventus has announced Luciano Spalletti as their new head coach following the dismissal of Igor Tudor earlier this week.
“Luciano Spalletti is the new head coach of Juventus, signing an agreement with the Club until June 30, 2026,” Juventus said on Thursday.
“Born in Certaldo, in the province of Florence, in 1959, Spalletti began his coaching career 30 years ago after playing for Spezia and Empoli, among others.”
Spalletti’s appointment came three days after the club sacked former manager Tudor on Monday following Juventus’ 1-0 defeat to Lazio during the weekend.
This result left Juventus with three straight losses and an eight-match winless run before the 3-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday.
The 66-year-old’s last stint was with the Italy national team before he was sacked by the Italian football federation in June. He will be expected to turn the situation around at the Allianz Stadium quickly, with Juventus currently sitting seventh on the table.
Spalletti’s first game in charge of the team will be away at Cremonese on Saturday.
