This was announced in a statement on Monday. It said the projects, approved by the 33rd Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Abba Yusuf, aimed to boost infrastructure, enhance learning standards, and increase access to quality education.
He explained that the N4.9 billion projects in the education sector included the renovation of Government Technical College, Ungogo, settlement of debts owed to boarding schools’ feeding suppliers, and the production of instructional materials.
Other projects included the completion and furnishing of the e-library at Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies, as well as the accreditation exercises at Kano State Polytechnic.
The government also approved funds for the procurement of office furniture and fittings at the North-West University, Kano.
Meanwhile, the ₦3.3 billion projects in the water supply and energy sectors included the construction of a water treatment plant in Rano LGA and the payment for electricity and fuel supplies to the State Water Board.
The statement added that the government had also approved funds for settling outstanding electricity bills and supplying diesel and petrol for water treatment plants.
The move aims to improve access to clean water, enhance energy efficiency, and promote better living standards for the people of Kano, according to the government.
