Champions League: Liverpool defeat Real Madrid; Arsenal thrash Slavia Prague

Liverpool’s resurgence continued at Anfield on Tuesday as the Premier League champions secured an impressive 1-0 win over Real Madrid in their UEFA Champions League tie.
The win marked a back-to-back victory for the Reds after suffering six defeats in seven games across all competitions before the 2-0 league triumph over Aston Villa during the weekend.
Alexis Mac Allister’s 61st-minute goal heading home Dominik Szoboszlai’s free kick past Thibaut Courtois ensured Liverpool clinched a massive three points against the most successful club in Champions League history.
Arsenal are another English side with a win in their Champions League match, thumping Slavia Prague 3-0 away in the Czech Republic to make it four victories in four matches in the tournament this season.
Bukayo Saka opened the scoring for the Gunners from the spot in the 32nd minute, giving Mikel Arteta’s team a deserved lead going into the halftime break.
Less than one minute into the second half, Mikel Merino doubled Arsenal lead as he smashed Leandro Trossard’s cross into the net before scoring a header in the 68th minute to seal the win for the Gunners.
Meanwhile, 10-man Bayern Munich got a hard-fought 2-1 away win over defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Luis Diaz put the visitors ahead from an assist from four minutes into the game at Parc des Princes before Michael Olise before the Colombian winger scored again two minutes after the half hour mark.
However, Diaz’s game ended before the half time break after he was sent off for a challenge on Achraf Hakimi.
PSG tried to capitalised on the numerical advantage but only managed to put one back in the second half through Joao Neves.
