A former Military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd), has condoled with the family, government, people of Kwara State, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and Nigerians over the death of Maj.-Gen. Abdullahi Mohammed (retd).

Mr Mohammed, who served as the Chief of Staff to former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Yar’Adua, died at 86.

This is contained in a statement by Abubakar, in Kano on Wednesday.

Mr Abubakar described the late general as a disciplined, loyal, and patriotic officer who made distinguished contributions to Nigeria’s stability and governance.

He said that Mr Mohammed brought “uncommon sense of duty, order, humility, and integrity to public service, leaving a lasting imprint on the institutions he served.”

The former head of state described the deceased as a man of exemplary character who combined the precision of a soldier with the prudence of a statesman.

He prayed God to forgive the late Mohammed’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest, while also urging the family to bear the loss with fortitude.
