Senate confirms new NCC board members

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the board members of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), with Idris Olorunnimbe representing the South-West as its chairman, following a successful screening at the National Assembly.
The NCC spokesperson, Nnenna Ukoha, who made this known in a statement, said the Senate Committee on Communications confirmed the appointment on Tuesday in Abuja.
Ms Ukoha said the committee also confirmed Maryam Bayi representing North-East, Ramoni Mustafa for South-West, and Ikechukwu Ugwuegede for South-East as commissioners of the NCC board.
“Other members of the board confirmed by the Senate are Princess Emiko, representing South-South, and Christopher Okorie for South-South,” she said.
She said the board chairman and commissioners joined the executive vice-chairman, Aminu Maida (North-West), and Abraham Oshadami, executive commissioner, technical services (North-Central).
“They also join the executive commissioner, stakeholder management, Rimini Makama (North-Central), who had been previously confirmed, on the board,” Ms Ukoha stated.
