Ibadan: Court remands man for stealing Android phones

A 28-year-old man, Farook Adebayo, pleaded guilty on Friday before the Mapo Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan to stealing two Android phones valued at N157,000.
Mr Adebayo admitted guilt to a one-count charge of stealing brought against him by the police.
The court’s president, O. E. Owoseni, consequently ordered that the defendant be remanded in the correctional centre and adjourned the case until November 13 for the review of facts.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Ayodele Ayeni, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on October 5 at about 1:00 a.m. in the Idiikan area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Mr. Ayeni stated that Mr. Adebayo stole two Android phones, a Vivo 10 worth N69,000 and a Tecno 18 worth N88,000, totaling N157,000, both belonging to Sadeeq Makinde.
According to him, the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
