Fresh from suspension, Ganduje’s aide says Buhari has failed to protect vulnerable Nigerians

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s spokesman Salihu Tanko-Yakasai has said that the Muhammad Buhari led federal government has failed in its core responsibility — protection of lives and properties.
Mr. Tanko-Yakasai, who only returned from suspension this week after facing a disciplinary action for participating in the #EndSARS protests against police brutality, slammed the president for allowing attacks on Zamfara residents to continue.
Gidan Goga, a community in Maradun Local Government Area, was attacked by armed bandits on Friday, leaving many dead, Daily Trust reported.
Lamenting the spate of killings amidst worsening insecurity, Mr. Tanko-Yakasai said a government that fails to safeguard lives and properties is a failure.
“The rate at which lives are lost with no end in sight is heartbreakingly devastating”, Mr. Yakasai said on Twitter. “The primary and number responsibility of any government is safeguarding lives and properties, without this, consider yourself a failure.”
The Nigerian Constitution imposed security of lives and property amongst core duties of the state.
