Ex-Akwa Ibom governor Victor Attah’s 87th birthday to feature book launch

All is now set for the 87th birthday anniversary celebration of a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah.
Mr Attah’s aide, Udeme Nana, who disclosed this at a press conference in Uyo on Friday, said that the event scheduled for November 20, would feature the launch of a book on Mr Attah’s biography.
According to him, the event will attract the presence of President Bola Tinubu, former President, Goodluck Jonathan, and several high-profile personalities in the country.
Mr Nana, the Founder, Uyo Book Club, said that the book titled, “Attah: Architect of a New Democratic Dawn” would be unveiled by the publisher, Vanguard Newspapers, Sam Amuka.
According to him, the biography, written by a veteran journalist, Dr Dele Wale, chronicles the life and achievements of Mr Attah, who was Akwa Ibom governor between 1999 and 2007.
He described Mr Attah as a visionary leader, who made significant contributions to the development of Akwa Ibom, and the country at large.
Mr Nana stated, “Attah is known for his advocacy for true federalism, resource control, and payment of derivation to mineral-bearing communities. He is a deep thinker, knowledgeable, creative, versatile, mentally alert and hardworking.’’
