The football event at the Amuwo Games ended on Sunday with Festac Sharks defeating Festac Hawks 4–1.

The match was one-sided as Festac Sharks outclassed their opponents throughout.

The Sharks dominated possession and passing, pushing the Hawks back before Victor Irioje scored an early opener.

Irioje later added two more goals to complete his hat-trick after sustained pressure on the Hawks’ defence.

Samuel Arurorino sealed the win with a solo effort, beating the Hawks’ backline from the right flank, before the Hawks a goal back.

Sharks coach, Babatunde Kazeem, described the victory as well deserved, noting the team’s strong preparation.

He said the Amuwo Games continued to attract more youths to grassroots sport within the community.

Mr Kazeem also thanked the organisers and participating teams for supporting this year’s edition.

Hawks captain, Wasiu Oluwaseun, said his side were overwhelmed and could not match the Sharks’ firepower.

He admitted the team played carelessly in defence and failed to reach their best performance.

Mr Oluwaseun, however, said they were satisfied with second place after a difficult competition.

Festac Elephant walked over Festac Bulls 3–0 after the Bulls failed to attend the third-place match.
