NSCDC warns Lagos residents against jungle justice on suspected vandals

Lagos State commandant of the NSCDC, Adedotun Keshinro, says no form of jungle justice against suspected vandals is permitted.
He stated this on Tuesday in Lagos during a community engagement on protecting critical national assets and infrastructure in the Lagos West Senatorial District.
Protecting CNAI, including oil, gas, transport, electricity, telecommunications, education, and health sectors, remains a core mandate of the NSCDC.
“We shall act proactively on all cases reported through our communication channels and across our 50 divisions and 10 area commands,” Mr Keshinro said.
He added that the engagement aims to intensify campaigns against vandalism, illegal dredging, illegal mining, and illegal scrap dealings within Lagos West communities.
Mr Keshinro urged traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, market leaders, religious leaders, and security agencies to support efforts to protect national assets.
He urged agencies, institutions, operators, and citizens, especially youths, to take ownership of public assets and prevent their destruction by miscreants.
Adeshina Arowosafe, representing the Ikotun-Igando LCDA chairman, commended the corps for initiating the programme in the Lagos West Senatorial District.
Mr Arowosafe called on all stakeholders to see the protection of national assets and infrastructure as a shared responsibility.
