Bauchi government commiserates with Kebbi over mass abduction of schoolgirls

The Bauchi government has expressed sorrow and heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of Kebbi over the mass abduction of schoolgirls at Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga in Danko Wasagu LGA.
The government’s sympathy was expressed in a statement on Thursday by Jalaludeen Maina, spokesman for Bauchi’s education ministry.
Armed bandits attacked the school on Monday, killing the vice principal, a security guard and abducted 25 female students.
The Bauchi government stated that the devastating attack was not only a major setback for Kebbi, but a painful blow to the entire education sector.
“The Bauchi State Ministry of Education is in solidarity with the Kebbi State Ministry of Education, affected families and the entire community during this difficult time.
“We pray for the safe return of the abducted students and extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. We also commend the efforts of security agencies as they work toward rescuing the students and restoring safety in the area.
“The Bauchi State Ministry of Education reaffirms its support and sympathy to the people of Kebbi and calls for collective efforts to safeguard schools and ensure the protection of learners across the country,” the statement said.
