U.S. hails Nigerian-American Commodore Kelechi Ndukwe for historical feat

The U.S. Mission in Nigeria on Friday celebrated Nigerian-American Commodore Kelechi Ndukwe for making history in the United States Navy.

In a statement on X on Friday, the U.S. Mission announced Mr Ndukwe’s historical exploit in the U.S. Navy, posting his photo.

“Meet Commodore Kelechi Ndukwe, a Nigerian-American making history in the @USNavy!” the U.S. Mission said, highlighting Mr Ndukwe’s achievement in the U.S. Navy.

The U.S. Mission described Mr Ndukwe’s career advancement as an inspiration and an example of excellence, saying, “From commanding the USS Halsey as the first Nigerian-American to lead a guided-missile destroyer to now serving as Commodore of Destroyer Squadron 60 & Task Force 65 in Spain, his journey is pure inspiration and a true example of #AmericanExcellence! 🇺🇸🇳🇬

Mr Ndukwe comes as another story of Nigerians excelling in the diaspora.
