Several residents abducted as bandits invade Kano community

Terror swept the Biresawa village of Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State on Monday night, as armed bandits raided the community and abducted at least eight people.
Multiple reports said the attackers invaded the village between 11:00 p.m. and 12 midnight.
The armed bandits stormed the community and started shooting sporadically, kidnapping two male and female community members, according to a report by Daily Trust.
“They came on foot, armed with guns. They kidnapped my wife, Umma; my 17-year-old daughter, Fati; my brother’s wife; and two other women,” the report quoted a source. “We tried to stop them, but our weapons were no match for them, as they were carrying guns.”
According to the report, bandits had raided neighbouring communities in the state, leaving residents in fear.
The Kano police spokesperson, SP Haruna Abdullahi, did not respond to Peoples Gazette’s request on the development.
Armed bandits have intensified attacks, especially on religious places and schools in different parts of the country, forcing governments to close down schools in Kwara, Plateau, Kebbi, Katsina, Niger, and others.
On Monday evening, terrorists stormed the Isapa community in the Ekiti LGA of Kwara, abducting 11 people, days after they invaded the Eruku CAC church in the same local government, abducting eleven people.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu had deployed military reinforcements in the affected states, vowing to address the escalating situation and ensure the security of lives and property.
