New perm sec for ministry of works assumes duty

A new Permanent Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Works, Rafiu Adeladan, has assumed duty.
A statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Mohammed Ahmed, on Tuesday in Abuja, stated that Mr Adeladan’s assumption followed the recent deployment of some federal permanent secretaries by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), as approved by President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, Mr Adeladan, who took over from Olufunso Adebiyi, expressed deep gratitude to the President for the confidence reposed in him and for the opportunity to serve the nation.
He said, “My leadership will be guided by unity, teamwork, transparency, and an open-door policy.”
He urged directors, staff members, and stakeholders to work collectively in advancing the ministry’s mandate, stressing that collaboration and commitment were essential to actualising the aspirations of the Renewed Hope Administration.
Mr Adeladan promised to uphold and advance the policies and priorities of President Tinubu, foster teamwork and collaboration across departments and agencies, in driving the government’s agenda on infrastructure development.
The outgoing Permanent Secretary, Olufunso Adebiyi, represented by the Director, Human Resource Management, Aliyu Abdullahi, thanked the President for allowing him to contribute to the development of Nigerian roads.
Mr Adebiyi highlighted road transportation as the most used transport infrastructure adding that “about 90 per cent of the movement of people, goods, and services is done by road, which puts a lot of pressure on it.”
On his part, Mr Ahmed described Mr Adeladan’s redeployment as a homecoming, assuring the the permanent secretary of the readiness of workers to support him.
