Military issues notice to Kaduna communities over training exercise

The Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Nigeria, says it will commence its final outdoor field training exercise codenamed ‘EXERCISE UBIAK-ISIN’ for the students of Junior Course 100 of 2025.
A statement on Friday said the exercise would be held from Monday to Friday in Wusono-Kazaure-Aguwan Loya and Camp Salaya General in Igabi LGA, Kaduna.
“The student officers will also be tested in unconventional warfare, application of critical thinking, as well as counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations, in view of the current contemporary security challenges.
“Consequently, communities living around the general area of Igabi Local Government Area in Kaduna State are enjoined not to panic on seeing mass movement of military personnel, vehicles and equipment as well as hearing sounds of explosives and small arms,” said the statement.
The college said that all the necessary preventive measures have been put in place for general security and safety of the area.
“Importantly, locals in the general areas mentioned are advised to go about their normal routine activities and report any breach of security to the nearest authority.
“We wish to appeal for cooperation from the local communities directly affected by the exercise and Nigerians as a whole, as we train military leaders for our armed forces,” it said.
