Mr Lawan reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting institutions and vulnerable groups across the North-East.

• November 29, 2025

The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) in Adamawa, on Saturday, distributed food items to vulnerable groups and key organisations as part of a renewed effort to impact society.

Speaking during the outreach on Saturday, NEDC’s coordinator, Khalifa Lawan, said the initiative aligns with a directive from the commission’s headquarters.

He said the gesture is to reach out to organisations and vulnerable groups across the state before the end of 2025.

“Such interventions are central to the NEDC’s mandate of uplifting communities and improving social welfare.

“We are here to support you and to ease your work as you continue serving the public and vulnerable people in your care,” he said.

Mr Lawan reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting institutions and vulnerable groups across the North-East.

In feedback, the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa chapter, Abdullahi Ibrahim, who responded among other beneficiaries, expressed appreciation to the group for the support.

He said the intervention will significantly ease their day-to-day activities and strengthen their cordial relationship with the commission.

The beneficiaries also included the St Joseph Catholic Church, Damilu, and the Goni Musa Tumo Tsangayya Wauro Jabbe Islamic School.

Others include the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Children’s Home, and the Jimeta and Yolde-Pate Correctional Centres, among others.
