‘We are proud of your achievements,’ Governor Uba Sani tells Speaker Abbas

Governor Uba Sani has described Dr Tajudeen Abbas as one of the best House speakers in the history of the National Assembly because of his ability to manage the complexities of the lower Legislative Chamber.
The governor who was the special guest of honour at the Renewed Hope Empowerment Programme which was sponsored by the speaker in Zaria on Sunday, said it is not just his opinion but the view of President Bola Tinubu.
Governor Uba Sani thanked the president for supporting the speaker to ensure that his tenure as the presiding officer of the House of Representatives is hitch-free.
“As a former senator, I know how difficult it is to president over the House of Representatives. There are 360 members there. No matter your competence, patience and hard work, one day you will be pushed to the wall,’’ he disclosed.
“But as of today, in the history of Nigeria, no Speaker has brought about development like Tajudeen Abbas. I’m not the one who is praising him for the unity that he has brought to the House of Representatives. It was the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who said it. I’m just repeating what he said,’’ he added.
The governor said that he is proud of the House Speaker for supporting youth and women empowerment in not just his Zaria Constituency but Kaduna State as a whole and Nigeria in general.
According to him, some politicians questioned the rationale behind his being in the forefront to get Hon Abbas elected as speaker of the House of Representatives.
‘’I told them that my support was not based on politics. I will support anyone who will bring development to Kaduna State. Now, I have been vindicated by the projects he has executed and empowerment programmes that he has been doing.
“I have told all the legislators that are here with us, that we can only be on good terms if they bring development to their people. Anyone who does not attract a school, hospital or any project in his constituency, we will part ways with him,” he warned.
Governor Uba Sani also disclosed that House Speaker Abbas has helped all legislators from Kaduna State to facilitate the siting of projects in their constituencies.
The governor said that the speaker himself is undertaking projects in all the 23 local governments in Kaduna State, pleading that the people of Sabon Gari local government also want a stadium built for them like the one in Zaria local government.
At the event which took place at Kofar Doka Zaria, SUVs were distributed to traditional leaders; tractors, combine harvesters, fertiliser applicators and Knapsack sprayers were given to farmers. Farmers also received Solar-powered and petrol water pumping machines for irrigation.
Similarly, women got deep freezers, Grinding machines and Industrial sewing machines to support tailors, including Haulage tricycles.
