Police arrest four robbery suspects in Delta

The police command in Delta has apprehended four robbery suspects in a series of coordinated operations in the state.
Spokesman for the command, Bright Edafe, disclosed this in Warri on Tuesday.
Mr Edafe said that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) between Friday and Saturday.
He said that the police team was led in the operations by its commander, Julius Robinson.
Mr Edafe said that the suspects were nabbed at their separate hideouts in Ughelli, Oghara and Sapele following credible intelligence.
“Acting on credible intelligence, within the Ekuigbo axis, the team intercepted one of the syndicate’s key actors and recovered a stolen tricycle in his possession.
“More coordinated operations led to the arrest of two additional suspects and the recovery of another stolen tricycle and a locally made shotgun loaded with six live cartridges.
“Building on the momentum, the CP-SAT on November 29 entered the Oghara and Sapele axis. Acting on further intelligence, they stormed the residence of one of the suspects at Ogharake Community in Oghara. The suspect attempted to evade arrest but was swiftly prevented,” he said.
Mr Edafe said that a detailed search of the suspect’s premises led to the recovery of a locally fabricated Beretta pistol and 15 rounds of live ammunition packaged and ready for deployment.
