U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have arrested Aderemi Joe Akefe, a Nigerian convicted for cocaine trafficking.

The U.S. Homeland Security, in a statement on Friday, announced that Mr Akefe is in detention alongside other criminal aliens.

Described as a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria, Mr Akefe, 67, was listed among”the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens.”

“Mr Akefe is with criminal convictions for conspiracy to distribute cocaine,” U.S. Department of Homeland Security said.

The Department of Homeland Security also said legal processes for deportation of Mr Akefe had been finalised.

“Akefe has a final order of removal from an immigration judge,” Department of Homeland Security said.

Mr Akefe joins list of other Nigerians captured by the ICE since the massive clampdown on illegal immigrants by U.S. government started.

Before Mr Akefe, Chinnomso Ochie and Theophilis Anwana, were arrested also by ICE.
