ASP Eno Ikoedem on Monday assumed duty as the new spokeswoman for the Edo police command, following her recent appointment to the position.

This was announced in a statement on Monday.

Until her appointment, Ms Ikoedem served as deputy spokesperson.

According to the police, her substantive appointment followed inspector general of police Kayode Egbetokun’s approval of her posting. Ms Ikoedem is the first female officer to be appointed PRO for the command, and resumed duty on Monday.

Ms Ikoedem is a graduate of the Nigeria Police Academy, where she completed a five-year training programme and earned a Bachelor’s degree in English. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the National Open University of Nigeria.

“Her academic and professional grounding place her in a strong position to advance a communication strategy. She also served in a range of operational and administrative roles across divisions in the state,” the statement said
