Court remands teenager for stealing pelletisers

The Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun has remanded one Michael Sunday, 18, in prison after he pleaded guilty to stealing three pelletisers and other items valued at N1.1 million.

Mr Sunday, of no fixed address, is being charged with stealing, for which he pleaded guilty.

The prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 8:10 a.m. on November 8 at No. 18 Tarmac Road, Ota.

Mr Adaraloye had alleged that the defendant stole three pelletiser machines, a large disc, and raw food materials, all valued at N1.1 million, belonging to his employer.

He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2025.

The magistrate, O.O Fadairo, ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison and adjourned the case until December 10 for the establishment of facts.
