The management of Ikeja Electric Plc has linked the ongoing power outage affecting residents across the Lagos mainland to faults in the Transmission Company of Nigeria network.

The company, in a public notice signed by its management on Tuesday, explained that the widespread outage was “a result of faults on Alimosho Lines 1 and 2″, as well as the “132kV feeders from Ikeja West 330/132kV Transmission Station”.

According to Ikeja Electric, TCN maintenance teams are currently working to resolve the faults.

“Please be informed that the current outage affecting your supply now is a result of faults on Alimosho Lines 1 & 2, 132kV Feeders from Ikeja West 330/132kV Transmission Station. TCN maintenance teams are currently working to resolve the issues,” Ikeja Electric Plc stated.

Some of the affected areas listed by the distribution company include Opebi, Secretariat, Alausa, Agbado, Ogba, Agege, Magodo, among other neighbouring areas within the Ikeja metropolis.
