PDP mourns Bayelsa Deputy Governor Ewhrudjakpo

The Peoples Democratic Party has mourned Deputy Governor of Bayelsa Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, describing his death as explicable loss, and indescribable pain.
Mr Ewhrudjakpo, who died on Thursday, reportedly collapsed while in the office and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.
PDP’s spokesman, Ini Ememobong, in a statement on Thursday, described Mr Ewhrudjakpo as a trusted, faithful party man.
He said that the party leadership received the news of the demise of the deputy governor with deep shock.
He said that the news had left the National Working Committee led by Tanimu Turaki, and the entire membership of PDP in Bayelsa in grief.
“While alive, Senator Ewhrudjakpo was an honest and consistent politician who believed in and practised politics with principle. He was a person of conviction, not convenience; a leader whose life was anchored on belief, integrity, and strength of character.
“He held firmly to these virtues until his final moments. We are deeply saddened by the passing of this hero of political integrity, and we pray that God grants his soul eternal rest,” he said.
Mr Ememobong expressed PDP’s heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Bayelsa.
