The deputy governor of Edo, Dennis Idahosa, has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of the deputy governor of Bayelsa, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

Mr Idahosa, in a statement by his chief press secretary, Friday Aghedo, in Benin, on Friday, extended heartfelt condolences to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa, the Ewhrudjakpo family, and the people of the state over the loss.

He described the late Mr Ewhrudjakpo as a dedicated public servant whose leadership style, humility, and commitment to the development of Bayelsa State and the broader Niger Delta region earned nationwide admiration.

Mr Idahosa noted that the loss left a significant void in Nigeria’s political and developmental landscape, adding that Mr Ewhrudjakpo’s contributions would be remembered for years to come.

The deputy governor prayed for divine strength for Mr Diri, the bereaved family, and the people of Bayelsa, while asking God to grant the departed eternal rest.
