Yuletide: FRSC to deploy 1,000 officers in Osun

According to him, the public should be law-abiding and take responsibility for their safety.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun sector command, says 1,000 officers will be deployed across the state for the yuletide.

This is as the corps said that the officers to be deployed comprised both regular and special marshals.

The Osun sector commander, Adeleye Adegboyega, made this known in a statement issued to journalists by the command’s spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi, in Osogbo on Sunday.

Ms Adegboyega stated that 28 patrol vehicles and four ambulances with one heavy duty tow truck would be stationed at strategic locations in the state.

He said that the command would increase its visibility of operations on roads and also intensify its public awareness to curb road accidents.

“The command will ensure prompt removal of obstruction and ensure effective management of traffic to prevent congestion.

“We will ensure help areas at critical locations across the state for backup and quick response to traffic emergencies, ” Ms Adegboyega said.

According to him, the public should be law-abiding and take responsibility for their safety without any form of distractive driving.

Ms Adegboyega maintained that road user’s attitude, especially among reckless drivers, heightened incidence of accidents during the ember months.

He promised that the command would ensure carnages on highways are curbed.
