Petrol price stood at N1,061.35 in November: NBS

The NBS said in its Diesel Price Watch Report for November 2025 that the average retail price was N1,409.61 per litre.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said the average retail price of a litre of petrol decreased from N1,214.17 in November 2024 to N1,061.35 in November 2025.

The NBS made the declaration in its Petrol Price Watch for November 2025, released in Abuja on Wednesday.

It said that the November 2025 price of N1,061.35 represented a 12.59 per cent decrease over the price of N1,214.17 recorded in November 2024.

The NBS noted, “Comparing the average price value with the previous month of October 2025, the average retail price increased by 0.86 per cent from N1,052.31.

“In the state profile analysis, Borno State paid the highest average retail price of N1,133.86 per litre, followed by Sokoto and Kogi at N1,118.83 and N1,111.00, respectively.

“Conversely, Oyo, Nasarawa and Lagos states paid the lowest average retail price at N997.39, N1,015.12, and N1,021.14, respectively.”

Analysis by zones showed that the North-East zone recorded the highest average retail price in October 2023 at N1,084.04, while the South-West recorded the lowest price at N1,036.12 per litre.

The NBS also said in its Diesel Price Watch Report for November 2025 that the average retail price was N1,409.61 per litre.

It said that the November 2025 price of N1,409.61 per litre amounted to a 2.57 per cent decrease over the N1,446.83 per litre paid in November 2024.

“On a month-on-month basis, the price increased by 0.79 per cent from the N1,398.57 per litre recorded in October 2025,’’ it stated.

On state profile analysis, the report indicated that the highest average price of diesel in November 2025 was recorded in Niger State at N1477.57, followed by Jigawa State at N1477.31, and Enugu State at N1468.29.

The lowest price was recorded in Kebbi State at N1308.94 per litre, followed by Kastina State at N1315.78 and Nasarawa State at N1325.29 per litre

In addition, the analysis by zones showed that the South-East had the highest price of N1419.34 per litre, while the South-South recorded the lowest price at N1400.58 per litre.
