Group donates foodstuff to 40 widows, others in Jos

A group, Saphira Global Centre for Social Development, has donated food items to 40 widows and vulnerable households in Tudun-Wada and Jenta-Mangoro communities of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The founder of the group, Yil Fomwul-Gonsum, presented the items to the beneficiaries on Saturday in Jos.
Mrs Fomwul-Gonsum said the gesture was aimed at providing succour to the less privileged in society, particularly widows and vulnerable children, during the Christmas season.
She explained that the organisation was committed to humanitarian services, noting that the outreach formed part of its annual Christmas intervention for indigent households.
According to her, each of the 40 households received essential food items, including bags of rice, seasoning cubes and salt, to ease hardship and enable them celebrate the festive season.
She noted that the beneficiaries included both Christians and Muslims, stressing that hunger knew no religion, tribe or background.
She said, “Our passion for helping the poor is rooted in the desire to make a meaningful difference and bring joy to people’s lives in every little way.”
