Nigeria is drowning gradually, Tinubu’s policies not benefiting Nigerians: Bode George

Bode George, a former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, has again censured President Bola Tinubu’s government, saying his administration has not benefited Nigerians.
“APC has not done well for Nigerians. What is the attraction to the APC? What value has the APC added to the common man? What will they do to convince the electorate to vote for them?” said the PDP chieftain. “Tinubu’s policies have not had the expected impact on the people. He has not put smiles on the faces of Nigerians.”
Mr George also faulted the recent wave of defections of opposition politicians to the All Progressives Congress, describing the moves as driven by political survival rather than national interest.
“Those governors defecting to the APC are only seeking re-election,” he stated while speaking on Channels TV on Monday.
However, Mr George urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that the will of the people is reflected during and after the much-anticipated polls, asking the INEC chairman, Joash Amupitan, to conduct transparent, credible, free, and fair elections.
“I want to call on Mr Amupitan and INEC to tread carefully because our nation is drowning by the hour. Mr Amupitan, there should be no glitch in this system. INEC should not disgrace the nation.
“They should allow the choices of the people to reflect in 2027. They should allow the people’s will to prevail. I hope the results of the next election will not be manipulated,” Mr George stated.
